Fixing Things Around the Home Can Be Overwhelming

Home Projects become too Big to Manage

It happens to most of us all too often.  A bunch of small projects around the home turn into big projects and the homeowner quickly becomes overwhelmed.  The past client we just got done working with came upon this exact issue.  Small trees became big ones.  Low grass and weeds over their septic field quickly became a wild forest.  A post on the deck began to rot and then over time became structurally unsound.  Winter is approaching and the home owner heats the home with a wood burning fire place that needed to be cleaned out before winter.  Wood needed to be split to give them their heating fuel source prior to winter.  A new water heater was needing to be installed but pipes in the main manifold had began to rust and needed to be replaced prior to the install.  And last but not least a dryer vent needed to be installed in the basement.  Basically the home owner had become over whelmed at the amount of work that needed to be done.

New Deck Construction

Recently I was asked if I would be interested in helping to install a deck for a client.  The first questioned asked by the client was if I was willing to not only be more of a lead on the project but whether I had a problem with him helping as much as he could and with him supplying the materials needed for the project.  My reply was….when would you like to start.  My hope when I first started my company was to lend the hand to people who like me liked the work but just needed some guidance and extra muscle to help them accomplish there goals around the house.  Though we also are more than willing to help without our clients assistance, it also is fun to have the extra company on the job site as well as the extra set of arms.

Drapery Hanging in a Home

Hanging Drapes can seem like a Simple Task

At Mr Fix It Oklahoma Handyman services even the simple home decor projects can take on a life of their own for the diy home owner.  Matt McNeil asked if I would provide my services to help him hang some drapes throughout his home to not only aid in limiting sunlight into his home but also add a bit of color and to protect his furniture and artwork.  As he pointed out, he did not have the want or the proper tools to make the job an easy task so our services were well worth the expense.  Many home owners think of simple projects such as hanging drapes can be done for a short time over the weekend.  However, the proper equipment can make even a simple task an expensive one for a one time affair.  Many lack the laser levels, drill bits, impact drivers and extension ladders needed for many projects.  Purchasing these necessary tools only adds to the expense.  In just a days time we were able to hang these drapes throughout the home, giving our client the look he was after at a cost far less than just acquire a couple of the necessary tools that would have allowed him to do the job himself.  At the same time we were able to tackle a couple of little annoying tasks such as making a couple of doors close correctly, fixing a gate and hanging some artwork.

Having a quality handyman to call can help alleviate calling multiple contractors to handle a bunch of tasks needed to help you feel more at home.

Building a Cabinet for items in your home

A Simple addition to your Living Room

Finding solutions to creating a new addition for items in your home can be challenging.  Sure many can go to the furniture store and find a hutch or piece of furniture that fits with there style and that can be used to help store things in your home.  However, sometimes items can be in a unique place and require something a little more custom to fit ones needs.  A perfect example is the solution Mr Fix It Oklahoma came up with for this wine cooler.  In previous homes there was a bar in the basement that had the perfect spot for our wine cooler.  In this home we needed to find a more unique way to hide our wine cooler and create something that would hold our extra wine glasses and booze.  We prefer a more open concept and we were unable to find a pre made piece and wanted something a little more unique that fit with the decor of our home.
